------------------------------------ PLC Selection Guide -------------------------------------
Hardbook Processors

Hardbook CPUs are compact, low-cost controllers that can handle most applications. Via included ports and an expansion slot, the Hardbooks support a wide range of I/O and third-party products. Ideal for ethernet I/O applications, whether Tealware I/O or another vendor's I/O is used.
SoftPLC in Tealware

SoftPLC In Tealware™ is an advanced, traditional hardware format controller system. Products include compact rack-mounted components such as CPU's, power supplies, and I/O modules. CPU bases can accommodate from 4 to 8 I/O modules, and both local and remote I/O expansion capabilities allow a single CPU to control up to 16,384 I/O points. SoftPLC In Tealware also supports redundant, hot-standby operation.
SoftPLC Processors SoftPLC Processors

SoftPLC Processors™ are CPU's that are available with a wide variety of expansion options. There is virtually no limit as to system capacity or possible configurations.

Tealware

Tealware I/O Tealware I/O can be used with any SoftPLC controller - Tealware CPU's, Hardbooks, or SoftPLC Processors. Local, Ethernet, and our SoftPIPE(TM) remote I/O configurations are supported.
A Series

A Series A Series is a low cost I/O system which supports distributed serial, ethernet or wireless configurations. It can be used with all SoftPLC CPU's.
Bus Networks and Others

Bus I/O Whatever "flavor" I/O is your favorite, we can provide a compatible interface in your SoftPLC: DeviceNet, Profibus, A-B RIO, and many others.
-------------- Based on the application, your system might require some additional options ------------
Communications
All SoftPLC CPU's include at least one serial and one ethernet port, but you may need additional communications ports or other networks.
System Protection
A UPS is strongly recommended for SoftPLC Systems not only for power protection, but also where power-loss conditions require safe shut-down. A UPS also allows the SoftPLC CPU to automatically save logic modifications and start-up where it left off when power is resumed (retentive memory).
Surge suppression is strongly recommended not only on line power, but on ethernet, remote I/O and modem ports.
-------------------------------------------- HMI/SCADA -------------------------------------------
SoftPLC offers a variety of operator interface solutions
HMI's & Operator Interface Terminals

SoftPLC Corporation now provides a wide range of operator interface terminals, from small text displays to 10" full-featured graphic terminals.
PanelPC

SoftPLC Corporation provides a wide range of PanelPC products.

TOPDOC
TOPDOC is the program development, documentation and maintenance tool for all SoftPLC systems. Logic programming, both offline and online, are supported along with a rich set of editing tools, troubleshooting aids and utilities.
SoftPLC Corp. has manufactured TOPDOC since 1984 for Allen-Bradley PLC-2, PLC-3 and PLC-5 based systems along with their TOPDOC for SoftPLC.
A-B Conversions
If you have an Allen-Bradley SLC-500, PLC-5, PLC-2 or PLC-3 system, you can convert your existing logic and documentation to run in a SoftPLC, saving you untold re-engineering costs! If you are working on a system upgrade, you can most likely keep using the same I/O, communication network, and HMI/SCADA/DCS system as well.
Programmer's Toolkits
If you have a fairly good understanding of C, C++ or Java language you can create your own ladder instructions, device drivers, and more with the SoftPLC Programmer's Toolkit. The Toolkit includes a description of our API (Applications Program Interface), example source code, "helper" functions, and a detailed programming manual.
