Deep Tunnel and Reservoir Project
This series of projects involved the implementation of a report by exception radio based SCADA system consisting of approximately 70 unattended remote control stations. The stations were integrated into a two tier supervisory control platform which took advantage of current PC based technology (Intellution/Wonderware) as well as supporting a minicomputer based legacy system for a total of approximately 200 stations.

The resulting system provides full alarming, reporting and control capabilities utilizing a minimum of radio airtime. The system was designed to allow the modular addition of radio based control stations with the ultimate loading expected to be around 250 remote sites.

Water Distribution System (fiber optics)
This system design consists of three pump stations and multiple water system SCADA operator computers networked utilizing TCP/IP protocol over a fiber optic based Ethernet network.
All three pump stations support VFD based pump control algorithms designed to maintain system pressure and coordinated operation.
In addition pump sump station control algorithms are capable of standalone operation in the event of a network or pump station failure. A common graphical user interface with login/password support is provided.
The common interface allows for complete water system operation from any of the three pump stations or water operator computers. Access to the control functions is limited, based on the currently logged in operator.
Automotive (product production)
This project required the integration of machine control, operator interface, production tracking, batch scheduling and lab based quality control. A tiered approach was taken in this application. Programmable logic controllers were used for direct machine control and fault monitoring. The programmable controllers where supplied operating parameters from operator interface computers which received batch processing instructions from a master batch scheduling computer.
In addition the operator interface computers allow the machine operators to adjust machine settings and perform “on the fly” process corrections as required.
The master batch scheduling computer maintained a database of product formulations allowing for the automatic production of varying size lots of multiple products with full tracking of actual verses targeted product components with lot based lab quality control data integration and full reporting.
